Freethinking Rule In Time – A Reading from the Book of Tarot for March 31, 2012

Two Tarot cards are profiled. These cards have been pulled to induce synchronicity. The intention is for you to watch for the consciousness they represent to be reflected in the events of your day. This practice known as Yoga of the West, is designed to build a bridge of intuition between the reader’s unconscious and conscious mind; a bridge to wholeness.

MEN

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 31, 2012, or number 12: The Hanged Man. The path this card represents is shaded on the diagram included. The consciousness on this path is known as , MEN, a powerless state.

MEN

The Hanged Man does not have the power to change all that needs to be changed. That power is completely left to the Light. The color yellow, knowing, glows on this card, both on the figure’s feet and around his head. This “hanged” figure is perfectly content upside down because he/she knows that it is only a matter of time before what needs to be right side up will come to be eventually.  Note that the man’s legs cross in an odd formation, one leg straight and the other crossed at a right angle. This is a symbol of a crossroad, in this case a crossroad we are powerless to do anything about right now. Wholeness requires us to willingly accept our powerlessness. To know, in fact, that our not acting is exactly the right thing to do to achieve wholeness.

The second card is a face card. Each face card in the Tarot represents an aspect of personality. There are four personality types: feeling (cups), thinking (swords), intuitive (wands) and sensate (pentacles). Each personality type has four levels of consciousness: page, knight, queen and king. All of us, male and female, have the capacity to realize all of these aspects of personality. We are all both male and female. The paths of the Tree are four-dimensional. Each level of personality travels its own dimension on each path simultaneously.

Today’s face card, The Queen of Swords, is a random selection seeking the ideal aspect of personality to pay attention to in relation to today’s archetype. Watch for the personality aspects of the Queen of Swords either within yourself or in someone else.

The Queen of each suit applies ideal female personality strengths and weaknesses at work on all the paths on the Tree of Life (kabbalah). The Queen of Swords is a freethinker as symbolized by the single bird in the sky, and the butterflies on her crown and throne.  She is also a single minded, focused, and powerful person. Her head is above the clouds, she enjoys clarity and objectivity; she wants truth.  The Queen’s left hand is up and welcoming, she is willing to listen. Her sword is straight up; you will get a fair hearing.  But, note the frayed, or tasseled rope on her wrist. In a number of earlier Sword cards you see figures with their arms bound, powerless. This figure has been bound, she has been there, and done that, she has survived, do not mess with her, do not attempt to feed her any lies. The cross to wholeness for this figure is seen in the child on her throne, it is just a head, pure intellect. This queen can be a harsh critic; she doesn’t give herself or anyone else any slack. The path to wholeness for this person requires realistic tolerance that finds value in what is, without the need to look for what isn’t.

LAMED

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 30, 2012, or number 11: Justice.  The path of Justice on the Tree of Life is shaded on the diagram. The consciousness on this path, LAMED, is that of ruling the severe balance of consequences.

The figure on the Justice card sits between the pillars of wisdom and a veil of ignorance hangs in the background. On this path we break through the veils of illusion or deception that harbor ignorance. The square on Justice’s crown represents well-ordered thoughts, law.  Her right hand holds a sword straight up in victory; she dispenses logical fair-minded justice. A sword is double-edged; it cuts both ways, signifying impartiality. The scales are in the figure’s left hand, the intuitive hand, telling us that logic is balanced by intuition. The clasp holding the figure’s robe is a square representing the law that is protecting the wholeness of us all, the circle within. Wholeness requires adherence to impartial karmic balance of the law, good or bad. Consequences must be accepted and harmonized in order for us to master this path. Achieving wholeness on the path of Justice requires breaking through the veils of ignorance with the realization that all is good.

There are four personality types: feeling (cups), thinking (swords), intuitive (wands) and sensate (pentacles). Each personality type has four levels of consciousness that correlate to maturity, or level of consciousness: page, knight, queen and king.  Who is highest consciousness, the King or the Page is in contention in the different cabals who study the Tree. Regardless, all of us, male and female, have the capacity to realize all of these aspects of personality and levels of consciousness. The paths of the Tree are four-dimensional. Each level of personality travels its own dimension on each path simultaneously.  A whole human being fully conscious realizes all levels of all personality types on all paths

Today’s face card, or aspect of personality to watch for is the Knight of Wands. Watch for the “ready or not” conscious desire to leap in, charge ahead, do what needs to be done consciousness  to be at work in someone, or in yourself today. The Knight is the face card that makes things happen. Wands represent the intuitive aspect of personality: the inspired insight level of consciousness. The Knight of Wands is rearing and moving forward. He is on fire, his tunic is covered with salamanders, the fire sign, BUT notice this Knight is too big for his horse. This Knight’s legs are too long. This impetuous Knight jumped on and rode out without making sure he fit his mount. The Knight of Wands is the intuitive risk taker; mistakes are just part of his journey. This master of unthinking moves never equates failure as a poor reflection on self. Failure is just part of the journey. Thus when this Knight succeeds he succeeds big!  The pyramids in the background show us that this Knight’s actions are magical. The Knight of Wands shows us that success and failure are equal learning experiences. What matters is the experience, the doing, taking chances and trying. Wholeness is found in the journey, not the destination.

Right Makes Might – A Reading from the Book of Tarot for March 29, 2012

RESH

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 29, 2012, or number 19: The sun.  This could also be 10: The Wheel of Forttune.  The Sun gives us a nice counter to yesterdays Moon. The path 19 of The Sun is shaded on the diagram. The consciousness on this path, RESH, is that of breakthrough brillance.

The Sun consciousness is action. Action that models pure reflections of that from which all things come, the Light’s energy. People on this path do things that we all admire and aspire to do. The child is riding away from walled sunflowers, 4 flowers represent the 4 suits, the four personalities of mankind.  These flowers have turned their faces to the child for energy. This is the path of “Look Mom, no Hands!” The horse is being ridden without reins. On this path, perfect control is achieved by balancing our conscious with our unconscious. The feather flying on the child’s head, the same feather we see in the hat of the Fool and the bright red streamer flying in the child’s left hand further underscores the power of the unconscious becoming conscious. The Sun itself emits pure energy and wavy (vibration energy). The Sun’s pure lines symbolize the power of the Light flowing directly to us. The Sun’s wavy lines are our power to reflect and refract the Light into vibrations that bring our personal realities into form. The block to wholeness on this path of vibrant energy is the charcoal hued wall behind the horse, supporting society (the flowers). Wholeness requires us to let the sunshine in, to not allow social walls to block our consciousness breakthroughs, nor to stop us from taking action that balances our subconscious with our conscious. The charcoal hue of the wall also reminds us to not burn out and destroy our selves and or others in our glorious drive to do, be and create.

Today’s face card, or aspect of personality to watch for is the King to yesterday’s Queen of Pentacles.   Interesting. Watch authoritarian consciousness  surface in someone else, or in yourself today.Pentacles have to do with material power and wealth.  The King of Pentacles is draped with abundant fruit of the vine. This king symbolizes when the sensory aspect of our personality rules.  This king is a stable, ambitious, wise ruler who protects and methodically produces worldly existence for all. Note this figures left foot is encased in armor and it rests upon the skull of a ram.  This authority figure expects those he has authority over to do exactly as he does…take over the family business, for example..  Wholeness when faced with this aspect of personality requires us to realize that might does not make right, that right makes might.  It is good to have your feet solidly grounded and be a balanced abundant producer and provider, but you also have to lighten up, unleash your imagination and free everyone to be who they are meant to be.

Reinvention of Self is in the Creative Process – A Reading from the Book of Tarot for March 28, 2012

This practice known as Yoga of the West, is designed to build a bridge of intuition between the reader’s unconscious and conscious mind; a bridge to wholeness.

OOPH

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 28, 2012, or number 18: The Moon.  This could also be 9: The Hermit, but 3/1/2012 just brought us the Hermit… So I am going to stay with 18. The path 18 represents, The Moon is shaded on the diagram included. The consciousness on this path, OOPH, is that of recognizing synchronicity.

In the image of the crayfish at the head of the path coming out of the water on the archetype image of The Moon symbolizes re-inventing your self.. The Pillars of Wisdom dominate the background of this card.  These pillars repeat many times in Yoga of the West symbolism. Achieving conscious balance on all the paths is to find your way through these pillars to immortality. The balance on this path through the pillars is via the moon (knowing) which is dripping flaming symbols for the Hebrew letter Yod, “that from which all things come.”  Understanding, knowing that from which all things come is balanced by the domesticated and the wild sides of our animal nature as symbolized by the dogs on either side of the path. This balance is achieved with intuition and creative insights into material reality in the moment. Momentary insight that famed psychologist Carl Jung’s term Synchronicity. Synchronicity refers to the signs that appear, signs that only you recognize; be they events, symbols, or dreams, these signs confirm and or guide you. Wholeness on the path of the Moon is to pay attention to the signs “that from which all things come” synchronizes to show us the way.

Today’s face card, or aspect of personality to watch for is the Queen of Pentacles. This Queen was up with the Hermit on 3/1/2012.  Interesting.  Synchronicity?   Coincidence? Random chance.  Figure it out for yourself.. Watch for this consciousness to surface in someone else, or in yourself today.  The Queen of Pentacles, the feminine rule of sensate personality type. Sensate types are associated with earthly material concerns. This is the Queen of sensual enjoyment. She sits upon a throne surrounded by fruit trees, angels and other symbols of material success and sensual pleasure. A rabbit the symbol for fertility darts out at her feet. On her lap, she cradles a Pentacle, a creation that she has given form. This creation could be a child, an artistic creation, or personal relationship. Jungian perspective would remind us that the most valuable life we form is our own. This Queen is contemplating the form she has brought into the world, her conscious self.  The roses above her head mirror the roses found above the Archetype Magician’s head. Roses symbolize desire. What this Queen desires is what she has brought into form. The white flowers at her feet tell us that her creation was formed with pure thought, pure intention. The Ram’s head on the left hand rest on her throne further underscores the fire wisdom at work in this Queen’s thinking. This Queen is the consummate Earth Mother, solid in the foundations of our true nature, secure in the abundance creation provides as needed.  Wholeness for this Queen is found in bringing her whole self: her conscious self, her desires and her pure thought into the world.

Two Tarot cards have been pulled to practice the inducement of synchronicity. The intention is for you to watch for the consciousness these cards represent to be reflected in the events of your day. This practice, known as Yoga of the West, is designed to build a bridge of intuition between your unconscious and conscious mind: a bridge to wholeness.

TETH

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 27, 2012, or number 17: The Star, also 8: Strength. The path Strength is that of balancing severity and mercy.  Too much severity is as damaging to our consciousness as too much mercy can be. This path, TETH, is shaded on the diagram.

Strength requires us to accept imperfection. Imperfection just is, dealing with it requires us to balance force with compassion. This balance requires the wisdom to realize that strength comes with not knowing and not judging. Note the figure is at peace, draped in garland and wears the crown of infinite wisdom. Her hands mirror the balance of her crown with a “yin yang” pose that cradles the “beast’s” head. This beast is licking the figure’s right hand. The right hand symbolizes our power to bring reality into form. At the same time this beast’s teeth are bared and his claws are extended.  Achieving wholeness on the path of Strength requires us to realize the perfect balance of power and powerlessness.

Today’s face card, or aspect of personality to watch for is the Knight of Cups. Knights move the energy of their Suit forward.  Cups (water) represent the Feeling personality type. This is the Knight of ideal feelings. He rides a blue horse. Blue is the color of wisdom.  His helmet is winged; he sets the highest standard for his expectations and self in life. His armor is emblazoned with the fish we saw surprise the Page of Cups by jumping out of his cup.  The Knight has absorbed the unexpected wonders of life, the joy that this fish symbolizes into his armor! This Knight faces rugged cliffs and rivers to be crossed with his head high. His horse is prancing with an arched neck and the cup he holds is one in which ideals are the motivating force of action. This Knight is THE romantic Knight in shining armor. Wholeness for this romantic figure is to share joy filled perfection: perfection that can only be realized through unconditional acceptance of imperfection.

Two Tarot cards have been pulled to practice the inducement of synchronicity. The intention is for you to watch for the consciousness these cards represent to be reflected in the events of your day. This practice, known as Yoga of the West, is designed to build a bridge of intuition between your unconscious and conscious mind: a bridge to wholeness.

CHETH

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 26, 2012, or number 16: The Tower, also 6: The Chariot. The path the Chariot  is that of opportunity rolling through your life. This path, CHETH, is shaded on the diagram.

The Chariot is a path of opportunity for transformation that you need to be on alert for.  Pay attention, you have to recognize and jump on this chance when it presents itself. The symbols on this archetype card are many layered, these forces at work are completely outside of material control. The Chariot’s six-pointed starred canopy indicates there are celestial influences at work. The Charioteer wears a laurel and star crown, indicating attainment of the highest spiritual evolution. On his shoulders, outward facing crescent moons alert us to formative forces. The alchemical symbols on his tunic represent spiritual transformation. The square is earth, sign of strength and will. He also holds a wand, no reins, further underscoring that he controls with strength of will. On the Chariot itself there are wings that represent inspiration and a Hindu sign of positive and negative unity. The black and white sphinxes repeat this positive/negative unity. Note the city in the background, the Charioteer has turned his back on civilization and materialism to seeks spiritual transcendence. Wholeness on this path requires strength of will to reject civilization’s material priorities in order to seek personal transformation that harmonizes good and evil and makes your life “all good.”

Staying in touch with this state of being is to stay forever young. In the case of the Page of Cups we are dealing we are dealing with water, (feelings).  This Page is the child that lives in wonder at the unknown and unexpected. There is a fish in his cup, and there is no disgust or fear, instead, there is a sense of joy and intrigue. This card is anchored in pure joyous feeling. Wholeness for the Page of Wands is to be able to maintain an attitude of joy and intrigue regardless of circumstance.

This practice, known as Yoga of the West, is designed to build a bridge of intuition between your unconscious and conscious mind: a bridge to wholeness.

VAU

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 24, 2012, or number 14: Temperance, also 5: The Hierophant . The path the Hierophant is that of spiritual leader. This path, VAU, is shaded on the diagram.

The Hierophant is the path of giving spiritual guidance. The Master of this path provides a bridge between heaven and earth.  A person on this path is an enlightened spiritual teacher. This teacher sits between the pillars of severity on his right and compassion on his left.  This teacher wears multiple symbols that reference the three crossroads that must be transcended on the Tree of Life to reach wholeness. Three crosses on his vestment, three layers on his head and three crossbars on the cross in his left hand. (The cross is the same as the one carried by the Pope.)  The Hierophant’s raised right hand is signaling benediction, he works for the good of all. At the teacher’s feet, we see the keys to heaven. At the teacher’s right foot is a seeker wearing the red roses of desire. At the teacher’s left foot is a seeker wearing the white lilies of pure thought. Wholeness on this path requires service to mankind, service that balances mankind’s desire with pure thinking.

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 23, 2012, or number 13: Death, also 4: The Emperor .The path the Emperor represents is shaded on the diagram included. The consciousness on this path known as, HEH , entails ruling with fire.  This is the path of the powerful ruler.

The Emperor is the Animus, the ideal male in psychologist, Carl Jung’s collective unconscious theory. Here we have the masculine authoritarian rule. The Emperor’s feet are encased in armor, firmly placed on rock, a position rooted in strength. In his right hand, that which brings reality into form, there is a scepter that brings to mind the Egyptian Ankh, symbol of life, but the upper circle is round…wholeness is depicted rather than a womb. Mastery of masculine rule requires full balance of all four aspects of personality, wholeness. The figure’s left hand, that which directs all forces from which we become, holds a pomegranate, the fruit that symbolizes the seeds of abundant life. This fruit is protected by the Ram’s head shield on the figure’s shoulder. Ram’s heads are also on all four corners of his throne, fire, and in the background we see red mountains, fire again. Wholeness on this path of being a ruler requires you to be a sure-footed master of intellectual heights.

The second card is a face card. Each face card in the Tarot represents an aspect of personality. There are four personality types: feeling (cups), thinking (swords), intuitive (wands) and sensate (pentacles). Each personality type has four levels of consciousness that correlate to maturity, or level of consciousness: page, knight, queen and king.  Who is highest consciousness, the King or the Page is in contention in different Cabals. Regardless, all of us, male and female, have the capacity to realize all of these aspects of personality and levels of consciousness. The paths of the Tree are four-dimensional. Each level of personality travels its own dimension on each path simultaneously.  A whole human being fully conscious realizes all levels of all personality types on all paths

Today’s face card, or aspect of personality to watch for is the Page of Swords. Pages are the state of being embodied in our inner child. Staying in touch with this state of being is to stay forever young. In the case of the Page of Swords we are dealing with fire, (thinking).  This Page is the young idealist. Note the wind is blowing and the ground he stands on looks turbulent, there is intense, joyous, readiness here.  This figure’s Sword is raised straight up, and anchored with both hands. Thinking is pure, but note the flowers at his feet are buds. We can see the white of pure thought peeking out, but the flowers are still hooded. This figure’s energy is for just cause and he is willing to fight to make the cause come into being, but his thinking is still unformed. His blade is a double edged one, and he is as likely to hurt himself as he is to accomplish his idealistic feat.  The Page of Sword’s personality aspect is the burning bright brilliance of passion for what is right.  The freethinking birds above his head seem to form a lemiscate like the one found crowning the Magician’s head. Realizing the ideals of this aspect in our personality requires us to overcome the endless self-induced cuts, or jaded realities that block what is right.  Wholeness requires us to hang onto our idealism.

Compassionate Union – A Reading from the Book of Tarot for March 22, 2012

Two Tarot cards have been pulled to induce synchronicity. The intention is for you to watch for the consciousness they represent to be reflected in the events of your day. This practice known as Yoga of the West, is designed to build a bridge of intuition between the reader’s unconscious and conscious mind; a bridge to wholeness.

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 21, 2012, or number 12: The Hanged Man, or number 3: The Empress.  Higher consciousness seems correct this day. On this path, DALETH, nurturing consciousness of material existence is realized.

The Empress is the path of divine union, the union that produces the best of material creation. Wisdom and understanding come together on this path of nurturing love. This path is the catalyst that brings chaos to order. The Empress is the incubation path, as evidenced by the hooded sphere on the scepter in the figure’s right hand. There is a crown of 12 stars on the Empress’s head representing the Zodiac. Below the Empress’s coach is a heart shaped pillow bearing the sign of Venus: the planet of love, creativity, art, fertility, beauty and grace. Psychologist Carl Jung believed the heavenly bodies didn’t cause events to happen, but that they were synchronistic with them. Master on this Empress path consciously works with  synchronistic energy to prepare the forces necessary to bring need to form.  Wholeness requires us to find wisdom, understand and unite what is needed for all to come to form.

Today’s face card, or aspect of personality to watch for is the King of Swords. Watch for a master of just thought.  Swords, fire, have to do with intellect, the Thinking personality.  The King of Swords is the only king that looks straight at us.  He asks us, “Is your life a life of truth?”  This king has his sword in his right hand fully revealed but note it is angled.  This king’s justice is tempered by compassion. The ring of power that this king wears on his left hand further symbolizes his compassionate understanding. There are butterflies of transformation on his throne, joined by an angel whispering in the king’s ear, and a winged angel’s head decorates his crown. These winged beings tell us that this king’s humanity has elevated his thinking to celestial realms.  The two birds in the sky are the bird of justice flying in the company of the bird of expedience. This king is not quick to judge and condemn, he considers extenuating circumstances. The King of Swords reminds us that wholeness requires us to rule with our heads above the clouds, wholeness requires us to be practical.

Making Reality Be – A Reading from the Book of Tarot for March 20, 2012

BETH

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 10, 2012, or number 10: The Wheel of Fortune, or number 1: The Magician. Number 1 consciousness seems correct this day. On the Magicians path, BETH, conscious creation of material existence is realized.

The Magician sits on the ‘right hand of the father,” and is capable of conscious creation of reality. The Magician has achieved wholeness; all four-personality types are on the table. The Magician, as shown by his wand raised high in his right hand, is a Master who can create miracles. The White Magician wears the crown of infinite wisdom and his left hand pointing down signifies that his work is for the good of all who operate on the lower levels of consciousness. Note the red roses of desire that adorn the card above and below the figure, “as above, so below.”  The Magician desires heaven on earth. The white lilies symbolize purity of thought, they further emphasize that this is a White Magician in service to the All.  Note the Magician wears a snake belt. The Snake on the Tree of Life symbolizes the life force, the Light of creation that we are all connected too and reflect.  Wholeness for the Magician is to be belted (protected) by the Light.

Today’s face card, or aspect of personality to watch for is the Knight of Wands. Watch for a man who riding to realize an ideal with or without help or perfect fit.

The Knight is the face card that makes things happen. Wands represent the intuitive aspect of personality: the inspired insight level of consciousness. The Knight of Wands is rearing and moving forward. He is on fire, his tunic is covered with salamanders, the fire sign, BUT notice this Knight is too big for his horse. This Knight’s legs are too long. This impetuous Knight jumped on and rode out without making sure he fit his mount. The Knight of Wands is the intuitive risk taker; mistakes are just part of his journey. This master of unthinking moves never equates failure as a poor reflection on self. Failure is just part of the journey. Thus when this Knight succeeds he succeeds big!  The pyramids in the background show us that this Knight’s actions are magical. The Knight of Wands shows us that success and failure are equal learning experiences. What matters is the experience, the doing, taking chances and trying. Wholeness is found in the journey, not the destination.
