This loss of global economic control and power is driving the US Oligarchy into a frenzy of authoritarian “whack a mole” on information. It is up to us the American people, those who believe in Main Street, to stay grounded, to choose compassion for our people and communities, resist hate mongering and violent censorship and incarceration of truth tellers if we want to avoid the Corporate/fascist mistakes of Germany in the 20th Century.

Ironically, it is a fight the people CAN win. I’ve come to see the freeing of Julian Assange as the event that will signal our win. May he live long enough for us to assemble the numbers and power to see the day.

Despite the best effort of Corporate Oligarch authorities to squash truth, the people have more tools to fight back and access accurate, or at least alternative perspectives on information, than ever before. Grounded critical thinking has never been more important. Accuracy takes time to discern, truth is obscured and historical perspective is essential. Our ability to maintain control over our communities and the rule of law that ensures our rights to live free and choose for ourselves is sitting at a crossroads.
