Freethinker’s Fortune – A Reading from the Book of Tarot for April 10, 2012

Two Tarot cards have been pulled to practice the inducement of synchronicity. The intention is for you to watch for the consciousness these cards represent to be reflected in the events of your day. This practice, known as Yoga of the West, is designed to build a bridge of intuition between your unconscious and conscious mind: a bridge to wholeness.

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 04, 10, 2012, or number 10: The Wheel of Fortune. The path this card represents is shaded on the diagram included. The conscious workings of the path this card represents, KAPH, are always viewed as positive.

The Wheel of Fortune spins, this path requires wise balance through change. Wisdom dominates the symbols on this card. It is seen in the color blue, the Sphinx and the Torah (Tora). Tora is spelled out in the outer ring of the wheel, mixed with IHVH, the unspeakable name of G__. The Four beasts of the Apocalypse are all reading the Tora.. In the top left is Aquarius, top right is Scorpio, Leo is in the bottom right and Taurus is in the bottom left. These fixed signs of the zodiac have wings signifying stability through change. The snake on the left side of the wheel symbolizes he life force descending into the material world. The snake’s head is traveling towards the feet of a red Anubis rising on the right side of the wheel, a sign of intelligence or wisdom ascending. The middle wheel contains the material world: alchemical symbols for mercury, sulfur, water and salt. The energy on this path of Wisdom balances work well done with the compassionate abundance of the Universe. Good fortune just is. The good that comes, goes just as easily, cherish and revel. The only thing we can be sure of in life and the wheel is change. Wholeness requires wise balance come what may on the wheel of material fortune.

The second card is a face card. Each face card in the Tarot represents an aspect of personality. There are four personality types: feeling (cups), thinking (swords), intuitive (wands) and sensate (pentacles). Each personality type has four levels of consciousness that correlate to maturity, or level of consciousness: page, knight, queen and king.  Who is highest consciousness, the King or the Page is in contention in different Cabals. Regardless, all of us, male and female, have the capacity to realize all of these aspects of personality and levels of consciousness. The paths of the Tree are four-dimensional. Each level of personality travels its own dimension on each path simultaneously.  A whole human being fully conscious realizes all levels of all personality types on all paths

Today’s face card, The Queen of Swords, is a random selection seeking the ideal aspect of personality to pay attention to in relation to today’s archetype. Watch for the personality aspects of the Queen of Swords either within yourself or in someone else.

The Queen of each suit applies ideal female personality strengths and weaknesses at work on all the paths on the Tree of Life (kabbalah). The Queen of Swords is a freethinker as symbolized by the single bird in the sky, and the butterflies on her crown and throne.  She is also a single minded, focused, and powerful person. Her head is above the clouds, she enjoys clarity and objectivity; she wants truth.  The Queen’s left hand is up and welcoming, she is willing to listen. Her sword is straight up; you will get a fair hearing.  But, note the frayed, or tasseled rope on her wrist. In a number of earlier Sword cards you see figures with their arms bound, powerless. This figure has been bound, she has been there, and done that, she has survived, do not mess with her, do not attempt to feed her any lies. The cross to wholeness for this figure is seen in the child on her throne, it is just a head, pure intellect. This queen can be a harsh critic; she doesn’t give herself or anyone else any slack. The path to wholeness for this person requires realistic tolerance that finds value in what is, without the need to look for what isn’t.

Making Reality Be – A Reading from the Book of Tarot for March 20, 2012

Two Tarot cards have been pulled to induce synchronicity. The intention is for you to watch for the consciousness they represent to be reflected in the events of your day. This practice known as Yoga of the West, is designed to build a bridge of intuition between the reader’s unconscious and conscious mind; a bridge to wholeness.

BETH

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day. Each archetype card in the Tarot represents a path on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah). Today is 03, 10, 2012, or number 10: The Wheel of Fortune, or number 1: The Magician. Number 1 consciousness seems correct this day. On the Magicians path, BETH, conscious creation of material existence is realized.

The Magician sits on the ‘right hand of the father,” and is capable of conscious creation of reality. The Magician has achieved wholeness; all four-personality types are on the table. The Magician, as shown by his wand raised high in his right hand, is a Master who can create miracles. The White Magician wears the crown of infinite wisdom and his left hand pointing down signifies that his work is for the good of all who operate on the lower levels of consciousness. Note the red roses of desire that adorn the card above and below the figure, “as above, so below.”  The Magician desires heaven on earth. The white lilies symbolize purity of thought, they further emphasize that this is a White Magician in service to the All.  Note the Magician wears a snake belt. The Snake on the Tree of Life symbolizes the life force, the Light of creation that we are all connected too and reflect.  Wholeness for the Magician is to be belted (protected) by the Light.

The second card is a face card. Each face card in the Tarot represents an aspect of personality. There are four personality types: feeling (cups), thinking (swords), intuitive (wands) and sensate (pentacles). Today’s face card, or aspect of personality to watch for is the Knight of Wands. Watch for a man who riding to realize an ideal with or without help or perfect fit.

The Knight is the face card that makes things happen. Wands represent the intuitive aspect of personality: the inspired insight level of consciousness. The Knight of Wands is rearing and moving forward. He is on fire, his tunic is covered with salamanders, the fire sign, BUT notice this Knight is too big for his horse. This Knight’s legs are too long. This impetuous Knight jumped on and rode out without making sure he fit his mount. The Knight of Wands is the intuitive risk taker; mistakes are just part of his journey. This master of unthinking moves never equates failure as a poor reflection on self. Failure is just part of the journey. Thus when this Knight succeeds he succeeds big!  The pyramids in the background show us that this Knight’s actions are magical. The Knight of Wands shows us that success and failure are equal learning experiences. What matters is the experience, the doing, taking chances and trying. Wholeness is found in the journey, not the destination.

Coming Into Form on the Tree of Life – BINAH – The 3rd Path

The 3rd path or sefirot on the tree of life, BINAH, is the birth giver consciousness. This is the cosmic gate from which the Light brings being into form.in Kabbalah.  The consciousness found on BINAH’s path On this path order of all comes into existence. This is the path represented by the 4 of each suit of the Tarot.

BINAH

BINAH is the path used to define the 8th Absolute found in my book, Choosing Honor.  8) Birth and Death are the same thing. As painful as it is to deal with in the moment of giving up, there is new life with every death. There also is death with every birth. In the All there is grief at birth that matches our grief at death. In the All there is an intense joy of reception at death that matches the joy of reception at birth. We achieve this consciousness by fulfilling the work we are born to create, rejoicing in the profound recognition of what is valuable, experiencing birth pain in our hearts and knowing objective truth.

In Tarot each suit represents a personality type. Your astrological sign determines your personality type.  Pentacles represent earth signs. Cups represent water signs. Swords represent fire signs. Wands represent air signs.  It should be noted some Cabals differ over the fire and air signs. Some think swords are air and wands fire. I don’t.  Jung didn’t either. I follow Carl Jung on this.

Whole personalities according to Jung are born dominated by one out of four personality types. These types are four parts of a circle of wholeness that is a fully realized personality. Jung’s theory is that a person dominant in one type is usually lacking the most in the aspects of the type counter clockwise on the circle. A person’s suppressed or lacking aspects are the key to personality disorders. Realizing full consciousness, to be whole, is to realize a full balance of all four personality type consciousnesses on all ten sefirots or circle paths on the Tree of Life.

The Sensate personality represented by the 3 of Pentacles portrays three figures in conference in what can only be a cathedral. This card depicts sacred work, service. A workman is standing above a priest and a  “judge,” in a clown cloak. The workman is the artist and he is raised above the others. The artist’s work, the work of creation is what is most important. This image makes me think of Michelangelo painting The Last Judgment in the Sistine chapel in the Vatican. The Pope’s master of ceremonies, Biagio de Cesena, insulted the painting and Michelangelo responded by portraying him as Minos, in the hell part of the picture with ass’ ears and a snake biting his penis. Funny but, in the workings of this path, dangerous, because if the three do not come to agreement the great work goes undone.  Wholeness requires us to unify the three aspects of ourselves that these figures represent. Doing our true work in the world requires us to balance our creative perfectionist, with our spirituality and our practical worldly concerns (making a living).

The 3 of Cups represent the Feeling personality’s consciousness on this path. The name of this path, Binah, means understanding. The three figures in this card have come to full understanding. They have come together to rejoice in a spirit of equality to celebrate what is most valuable to them, their mutual understanding. Also, from the harvest fruit all around them, they are celebrating mutual success. These figures dance in a circle, not in a line, no one comes first, no one comes last. Wholeness requires us to put aside our individual ego and celebrate be part of a group without the need to be exceptional.

 

The 3 of Swords represents the Thinking personality. The three of Swords is THE card of creativity. The look of the three swords stabbing into a heart brings to mind heartbreak.  But the pain in this Fire card is birth pain, the pain of creation, the pain of the right thing happening. No body gets out of this world alive. There is nothing to do with pain except take it into our hearts and in so doing transform it into creative energy. It is up to us to create the world we experience. To master the path of the Three of Swords is to master the understanding that the formation forces of life deliver what we need, not what we want.

 

The Intuitive personality’s experience on this path of creative fulfillment is representd by the 3 of Wands, symbolizing intuition: knowing. The lone figure standing above all represents understanding what needs to be brought into being. The figure in this card stands centered in knowing, looking out over the sea of possibility. The figure’s right hand, the hand that symbolizes bringing the material world into form, rests securely on the right wand. This is the path of the prophets, the saints, the visionaries; the path of genius that changes the world as we know it. Wholeness on this path requires us to find centered knowing.

Orgasmic Glory Consciousness on the Tree of Life – HOD – the 8th Path

The 8th path or sefirot on the tree of life, HOD, forms the focus level of higher consciousness  in Kabbalah.  The consciousness found on HOD’s path is the glorious intellectual awareness of our material interface with the spiritual.  This is the path represented by the 8 of each suit of the Tarot.

HOD  is the path used to define the 3rd Absolute found in my book, Choosing Honor.  3) Uniting Magnifies Our Power.  Combining our reflections of the Light with the reflections of others on the same “frequency” exponentially increases the power of that frequency to affect our existence. Families are more powerful than individual family members. Communities are more powerful than families. States are more powerful than communities. Nations are more powerful than states, and so on.

In Tarot each suit represents a personality type. You divine your personality type by using your astrological or element sign.  Pentacles represent earth signs. Cups represent water signs. Thinking, logic, sharp detailing, adjusting to the “bend in the road,” are all key to mastery of sensate aspect of this path.  Wholeness requires us to do the work.

The Feeling personality type is represented by the 8 of Cups.  The 8 of Cups represent understanding what needs to change. The figure in this card, wearing red (great power), is alone and walking away from seeming abundance. Though on closer inspection we see the abundance, the stacked cups, is imperfectly aligned. Wholeness on this path requires us to recognize the right time to move on from what no longer works for us.

The Thinking personality type represented by Swords is blind to seeing the way to glory.  The 8 of Swords reveals a figure blindfolded and bound in line with eight swords stuck in the ground on either side. In the background we see a castle on a mountain. This card represents all preconceived ideas, ways of thinking and knowing that hold us from realizing wholeness. Wholeness requires us to get out of the mud, to free our minds.

The 8 of Wands, the Intuitive personality seeking glory finds harmonization of consciousness in transition. The wands in this card are aligned in steps leading up, or reaching down to be climbed: a stairway to heaven. There is no figure; the energy is without form, from above. On closer inspection we see it seemingly explodes from above, this energy is “ah ha” energy, the “light bulb” going off with creative ideas enlightening our minds. Wands are often associated with libido energy. This card can be thought of as representing enlightened orgasm on the paths to wholeness.

Wands represent the intuitive personality type, associated with knowing and compassion.  This Queen of Intuition sits upon a throne with lions flying above her head and sitting at her feet. Lions symbolize fire (thinking) and strength. Her right hand holds a wand bursting with life, she “knows” the power to bring into form the aspects of life that are most important to us. In her left hand and also behind her we see sunflowers. These flowers always turn to the sun in real life and here they symbolize being in tune with the Light (the force of creation). Sunflowers represent life, fertility, joy and satisfaction. This Queen of creative power is also wise, her cloak is clasped together with the face of an owl. However, the black cat at this Queen’s feet alerts us to the reality that there are energies at work that we may not be aware of and we need to be on the look out for. Wholeness for the Queen of Wands is found in strong knowing creative action taken with full awareness of all aspects of any given situation, especially the unseen aspects.

Two Tarot cards are profiled. Each card represents a consciousness that corresponds to the highlighted paths on the Tree of Life (Kabbalah) diagrams included with this reading. The intention is for you to watch for the consciousness these cards symbolize to be reflected in the experiences and events of the day

The first card is an archetype card chosen according to the numerology of the day.  Today is 01, 31, 2012, or number 10: The Wheel of Fortune.  The second card, the 3 of Swords, is a random draw seeking the ideal card to contemplate in relation to current events this day.

The archetype of the Wheel of Fortune represents the consciousness of wisdom through change. Fortune is a wheel and it spins. Successful realization of this path requires balance through change. The Wheel of Fortune is laden with symbols. Wisdom dominates the symbols as seen with the color blue, the Sphinx and the Torah (Tora). Tora is spelled out in the outer ring of the wheel, mixed with IHVH, the unspeakable name of G__. The Four beasts of the Apocalypse are all reading the Tora.. The 3 of Swords falls on the 3rd Path, one of the Supernal 3 on the Tree of Life. The numbers 3 of each suit in the Tarot deck, 4 cards combined, reflect the consciousness realized on this 3^rd Path. This path is where order of all comes into being, it is the mother of existence. This path is a hub of synthesis. We achieve this synthesis of being by fulfilling the work we are born to create, rejoicing in the profound recognition of what is valuable, experiencing birth pain in our hearts and knowing objective truth.
